We are blessed to use the KIK Pavilion (Halau Ka'eaikahelelani) for most of our training sessions. SHD also has its own 800 sqft Dojo on property and on beautiful days (most) stand up arts train out in the grass under the Kona Sun (or moon)!

We are proud to offer high level (self defense / MMA) Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for kids and adults. Whether you are a hobbyist, competitor, or just someone who wants to get fit and be able to protect themselves, you will find our program to be efficient, effective, and very easy to learn. Enjoy a very FUN, family based environment with a "Super cool vibe" (as guests call it) that still challenges you to push yourself past your limits and to take what you learn on the mats to be confident and successful off the mats!

Shoot Hawaii Dojo is the Head Quarters of Scientific Wrestling Hawaii. The main Affiliate representing the entire Pacific / Asia for SCIENTIFIC WRESTLING, headed by founder Jake Shannon. SW is responsible for the rebirth or reintroduction internationally of the world's oldest sport (and Martial Art) Catch as Catch Can Wrestling. CACC is basically the parent of Jiu Jitsu (along with Judo) and our lineage (Coach Jaz) via Jake Shannon (and Wade Schalles) comes directly from both Billy Robinson & Karl Goth.

Our Judo is currently mixed in (at the beginning) with our Jiu Jitsu Classes. Throws are taught as part of the JJ (take down) curriculum for both kids and adults. We have two Judo Black Belts & one Brown Belt on Staff and will have Judo only classes (evening) available starting Summer 2024. We are also a support center for the Konawaena High Judo Team
KENPO

Kenpo is the oldest part of Shoot Hawaii Dojo, being its first core Art upon opening in 1998 in Kona. Kenpo along with Shoot Wrestling (Japanese style Catch wrestling) were the main teachings at SHD until Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was added in 2009. We teach a Hard Style of Kenpo & Kodenkan Jujitsu that is very mobile much like kick boxing, making it suitable for MMA.

Our Escrima training does not have its own class. It is taught in more practical basics structure as weapons section of our Kenpo program.
